PC Connections
Both of the DRC-Bus connectors on top of the SM2 are exactly the
same electrically and mechanically. It makes no difference which of the two
connectors the cable is plugged into. More than one SM2 can
be connected by daisy-chaining the DRC-Bus cables from one SM2 to another.
The SM2 Control Panel Application can handle up to 31 SM2 devices at any one
time. 3-Wire DRC-Link Cable: Connection to the PC is completed by making the following connections if you
are using a 3-wire cable between the SM2 and the DRC-Link: Important: Do not plug servos into the SM2 unless
a system battery is also connected as it normally would be when the system is
installed in a vehicle when a 3-wire DRC-Link cable is used. Preferred 2-Wire DRC-Link Cable: DRC-Link products sold after March, 2011 are shipped with a 2-wire
DRC-Link cable that does not connect USB power to the SM2. Configuring the SM2
is more versatile when the 2-wire cable is used because the SM2 can be connected
to gyros, receivers, servos, and any other accessories. The SM2 and all other
components will be powered by your own system battery when the SM2 is
configured. Connection to the PC is completed by making the following connections if you
are using a 2-wire cable between the SM2 and the DRC-Link:
