Loading and Saving
Configuration files are accessed from the "File"
menu and use standard Windows dialogs for loading and saving. When configuration files are loaded they are first
examined for the presence of the Product ID line as described in the previous
section. All information above the Product ID line will be disregarded by the
Application. An error will be thrown if the Product ID line does not exist.
All of the information below that line will be loaded into the Application
configuration where it can be simulated or programmed into a SM2
device. The Application looks to see if a configuration file
with the same name already exists when the file is saved. If it does,
the Application will prompt the user for permission to overwrite the existing
file. If the user answers yes to the overwrite prompt then the Application will
examine the existing file for comments above the Product ID line in the existing
file. If comments exist, then the Application will prompt the user to maintain
or discard the existing comments. Answering no to the second prompt will erase
all of the comments in the existing file and overwrite the file with
configuration data only.
